student highlight // Izzy, London

We exist for one reason: helping students realize that they have to power to change the world.

We the students hold the keys to ending cetacean captivity. This is the time, and we are the generation.

That's why getting messages from students like you means a lot to us. Below is an excerpt from a message sent to us by Izzy G. from London, England. Thank you, Izzy for your support and for allowing us to share your passion for this cause!

My names Izzy and I’m a teenager from London. My friend informed me about Blue Freedom in school in one of our lessons. The teacher told us off for talking and used the classic line “would you like to share what you said with the class?” but this time my friend actually did. My teacher was so upset that he stopped the whole lesson and showed everyone in our class the Blue Freedom website.

I just wanted to email to say that I think what you’re doing is amazing and you’re doing a wonderful job. When I found out what was happening to these wonderful sea creatures I especially was shocked as my family and I went to SeaWorld in America last year; we had a lovely time and didn’t realise what was happening to these poor whales and dolphins which is why I think it is so important to spread the word because there are so many people like me who had no idea what was happening behind the scenes.

My friend also showed me the trailer for Blackfish on YouTube - it looks fantastic (as in informative and helpful, not that the animals are being treated in this way) and even if it isn’t in cinemas in the UK I will definitely buy a DVD when it comes out.

As I am a huge animal lover I would love to try and help Blue Freedom in any way that I can and spread the word as much as possible.

I just wanted to say what a great job Blue Freedom was doing.
